I’ve decided to go back to my male avatar. He’s a blonde now though. I’ve discovered a new hair store called Anaphora. While this hair is of course available in black, it doesn’t suit me at all.

I’ve also found a new clothing store – Ducknipple (Do ducks really have nipples?). A lot of their clothes are made for women, but there are some things for men and some unisex clothes as well.

My sneakers are also new. They are from 2Real, and they are truly great. They come with a HUD that allows you to turn every little part a different color! They might replace the PornStars as my new favourite shoes!

Hello!! Here in Brazil, autumn starts on march 20th and i can’t wait!! the weather is beginning to change and already feels so good!! I hate summer here, we can get to 43ºC which the termical sensation goes to 50ºC or more depending of where you are at the moment…i feel like if i was being cooked or something! Artists absorb the world around them. Their environments, that which they can feel and touch and see – and that which they can’t. Sometimes that which they can only dream of. They absorb it and translate it into a language that affects us all in some way.

This project is a study of translations. I presented 25 artists within Second Life with a concept of creating art with these words in mind: Drowning. Melting. Polar bears. Arctic. Culpability. Corporate greed. Inevitability. Extinction.

What they have done is breathtaking and beyond any realm of my expectations.

As I posted here on the official +++BLUE BLOOD SL FASHION+++ blog, Ghanima has returned to SL after a short RL hiatus bearing a beautiful new creation for her fans. And she has really outdone herself this time, too. The colors are richer, the shading more realistic, the textures are more complex, and the sculpts are just perfect. As I mentioned earlier, I just couldn’t stop staring at the sleeves. And if that isn’t enough, Ghani has given us a motif of *bunnehs*! Yes, bunnehs are all the rage, aren’t they? Everyone is breeding them and buying fancy little hutches and gardens for them. Well, Ghani has used them as the motif for the fabric, but it’s subtle. I’ll bet you wouldn’t even have noticed if I hadn’t told you. Ok, enough chatter. On with the photographic evidence. I have lots to show you, so if the post gets cut short, please visit my blog to see more.

Above is one of the dark goth colors – purple. It also comes in dark goth black, gold, red, and teal, with gold as a group only color. Astrid’s top comes on all possible layers for maximum mixing and matching. Show above are the full outfit including the jacket and jacket prims, cuffs, sleeves, belt, and collar, as well as a stripped version with only the shirt/corset on the top layer. Want more? Lookee!

Astrid also comes with an sculpted belt which attaches under the breasts in a Japanese kimono way. Very interesting. You can see it best in the next photos.

As much as I love the dark colors, I think I love the whitegoth colors of Astrid even more. I had to show you the pink version, which I think is more red, but that’s just semantics, right? A rose by any other name…. etc. Astrid also comes in whitegoth blue, purple, and white, plus the group-only gold.

Like the poses? I love them! Oh please, Penny Dreadful Arcade, don’t close! More, I *must* show you more of Astrid!

I’ve again shown the full outfit and the more stripped down version. I love the little suspender-type texture over the tummy, too! But, you say, you can’t see the bunnehs! Ok. I recently heard about a growing and slightly disturbing trend on the SL fashion feeds. It seems everyone and their mother is using cocks and pussies in their blog post photos and store ads!

I am shocked! The poor animals have absolutely no say in this practice. Can you imagine hundreds of innocent cocks and pussies forced to be under hot lights for hours on end while someone takes photographs? Do they even get food and water? A place to rest?

Will cocks and pussies really sell your pixel clothing? No! They can't even wear clothes, for Pete's sake! We feel bad for the poor creatures. Is showing off your cock edgy?? Is showing a furry pussy artsy? No! It is just cruel.

At least in RL, representatives from the American Humane Society are on set to ...Wait...what? Oh my god. But I thought... Really?

Ok, one day late, but have to make my Oscar criticism. You can skip to the next paragraph if you want. First, Sandra Bullock’s makeup. Her lipstick clashed so horribly with her dress… it’ wasn’t pure red, it had a tint of pink! Come on! When you are nominated for Best Actress and everyone is saying you are going to win (dunno why… I’ll never understand the Academy), hire the best makeup artist in LA. If you did, then… ruin her career, she sucks. Next, SJP (accompanied by her dwarf of a husband… what’s with his hair anyway?). I usually like what the one and only Sarah Jessica Parker wears, but that Chanel light yellow dress clashed with her tan… which she usually doesn’t have (it was confirmed a minute later I had seen her on TV on the red carpet when a commercial with her as her pale normal self was shown…). On a brighter note, I adored what Meryl Streep (there for her 16th nomination), Penelopé Cruz and Helen Mirren were wearing and Clooney looked oh so yummy as always. Oh, and another thing… why is it always the boring song that wins “Best Song” and what happened with presented each song nominated with a little number like during the previous years? Cut all those actors saying how great the nominees for Best Actor/Actress are and gimme a real Hollywood-worthy show! That’s all I had to say…

Now the skin shopping part. Yes, I want to change skin… again. I found one at Pink Fuel that is oh so me even if the fatpack is… expensive. But hey, it’s not everyday you find a skin that suits you like a glove. Thing is, the designer, Mochi Milena, is making another skin which is still in beta mode and might just be released in April. So, if I buy the fatpack of the Skye skin and then try on the demo of the “beta” skin when it’s released and then realize that I prefer the “beta” skin, I’ll feel bad to not have waited. On the other hand, if I do wait and turns out the Skye skin is my fav, I will have waited all that time for nothing. I would sometime prefer to not know about upcoming skins a month in advance. Hard enough to choose between two things that you can buy straight ahead and try on in certain cases, makes it even harder to choose between something you can actually try on and something you know is coming and seems great but can’t try on. All this to say, dear skin creators and other creators of tempting stuff, if you plan to give us a preview of something that is upcoming, wether it is by showing us pictures or giving review copies to bloggers, would it be possible to have a release date or at least something like “end of said month” or just put out a demo version (with the whole usual demo stuff written all over it) of that new skin you decided to show us before it’s release so that we can see if we want to wait for said new skin to spend a lot on it or if we want to spend a lot now for the old skin? I want to buy a skin and not regret it afterwards.

On to my LOTD now. I decided to do the beautiful Aurora today. As you noticed, I’m still brunette instead of blond. Thing is, I don’t get free stuff from designers so buying a blond hairstyle I’m not going to wear again is a big no no budget-wise. Anyway, I’m not trying to reproduce every inch of Aurora here, I’m “modernizing” her look. So, I went again for the peasant version of a princess as I found it more interesting and I actually had an image of it in my head. Anyway, here it is:

There is a new role play sim in town — or their will be soon. I visited a few RP sims this morning, but the tip for this one came from this post. And even though the SLURL went into the mists, I found the place. And what a place it is. The sim opening is a bit behind schedule, but the attention to detail is worth it. What places Perdition apart from other urban RP sims that I have visited is the textures and details. The pose balls placed here and there pulsate with red outlines and the type of pose. Furniture is close to people size and reality mingles with fantasy easily here.

There are smoky bars, lawyer’s offices and an Oriental market. Pizza shops, an automotive garage and plenty of places with interiors yet undone add to the city feel. If I were into RP, this is a place that would interest me. You can read more about Perdition at the official blog. This is an adult sim and the website states that age verification will be needed. Right now, I can roam around with “Payment Info on File” status. This is an option to the more strict (and in some countries illegal) account verification. I have no info on if this will change.

What’s an poor urban gal to do for domesticity in her cold water flat? Well this quirky laundry umbrella from Weather! or not? (new main store) might be the answer. It comes with particle socks a falling as well as a choice of shoulder socks for that extra authenticity.

It is a new release at the accessories fair, so if you really need this — and what prim challenged lass does not — hop on over to the shop at the fair and pick up a copy. I believe I have found my new favorite sneakers. I’m not really a sneakers girl in SL or RL, but I’m starting to fall in love with the new “Pure” from 2Real Footwear, they have such great textures. (14 colors and 5 different textures editions) They come with a HUD which makes it super easy to change the colors and the laces for endless possibilities so mix and match to your heart’s desire. Ohhh and my favorite part is the fact that I can change the left and right shoes separately, so the left shoe can be pink while the right shoe can be blue. Wow wow wow, check out this new Mirai Style hair. Usually this shop is a hit or miss for me. Some of the styles are adorable and some styles are off – like it doesn’t fit right, the prims are a mess, etc. HOWEVER, today I got lucky. This new Kumy style is ADORABLE, and curly, and BIG. I purchased one in Blonde and one in Dark Brown. The head band is scripted to change 12 different colors.

My guess is that you’ll see this hairstyle everywhere, for the next couple of days. It’s hot!

You know those days that make life worth living? The ones you’ll live to remember and never forget? Those days when everything is going so well that nothing can get you down? I do. Today was one of those days for me. And it’s been a long-time coming, so I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you all to take refuge under my sunbrella.

I heard about the fantastic, quirky umbrellas made by Weather! or not? from one of my friends making her rounds at the accessory fair. I visited the Weather! or not? main store this afternoon and stumbled upon the perfect accessory for days like these, a sunbrella. It makes sure that the (digital) sun is always shining on me and that the rest of the world knows it. I took it down to the deep, dark tunnel on the Creamshop sim to test it in the same way I’d been daring evil things to steal my sunshine all day long. Just like me, it endured. And when tomorrow or one of the many days to come isn’t as kind to me as today, I’ll be able to pull out my sunbrella to create a little sunshine just for me or to remind me that there will be other days like today ahead.

Of course, I can’t give my sunbrella all the credit for replacing all of those dark and ugly things with a bright, shining ray of light. It could’ve been my very favorite “Lucky” shirt made by Sanura Snowpaw of *Dreams*, who is living proof that angels arrive when you need them the most, sometimes with paws and a furry tail. So I was skimming the feeds and I came across a post from B In Fashion about a group gift from “Purveyors of Accidental Love” which was a Lady Gaga-esque nude bodysuit with weird hip shape things. I thought it was cool looking and when I noticed the back, where a delicious big back blow was holding the sheer thing together…. I fel in love.

Not to mention “Purveyors of Accidental Love” is pretty much the coolest name for a group ever. It appears to be a gift group from the designers of PDA and Pig, and the bodysuit which is bizarrely named “Darling Baby Seal Flesh” is in the notices.

I love it, but I am in no way prepared to pull off (or on) the look of a bodysuit on it’s own, especially not a see-through one. I decided to take the “hip junk” and shrink it, maniuplate it around to create some sheer fluffy epaulets for myself, and paired the suit with the Ishaya velour slacks from Zaara and Saffron Pumps from LeLutka.

The below pictures are the result. I am pretty pleased, and I decided to be daring and forgo any kind of bra or otherwise “decency” providing underlayer. After all, if we can’t be slutty in the name of fashion in SL, where CAN we be?

NOTE: I DO NOT HAVE A PHOTOGRAPHY STUDIO, YES THIS IS MY BEDROOM. I AM NOT A PHOTOGRAPHER. DAMNIT. <3

This outfit highlights two Accessory Fair participants, Ticky Tacky and Dahlinks – as well as the outstanding dress from Agnes Finney for the memorial fundraiser For the Love of McQueen. I confess that the moment I saw the Agnes Finney Dress Mayur, I fell in love with it. In many ways, I even prefer her dress to the original McQueen dress that I think inspired it. I also think it is a beautiful illustration of the difference between inspiration and plagiarism. You can see elements of the original within the Agnes Finney design, but reimagined in such a way that the new design is distinctive and completely divisible from the original.

The Mayur Dress is festooned with peacock feathers and has a very ornate bodice. With a narrow waist and a full skirt, it’s a frothy feminine confection. The original is much more explicitly a recreation of two black peacocks in fabric and is visually stunning but is so powerful a statement that the dress wears the woman rather than the reverse. I like stunning dresses, but in a fashion sentence I prefer to be the subject, not the object. The shoes I chose for this are the amazing Crystal shoes from Baiastice. The touches of black with the white shoes make it a perfect complement.

The drama of the jewelry had to be powerful enough to match the drama of the dress. Here you can see the dramatic backdrop of the Dahlinks necklace that made this necklace the perfect choice for this dress. It’s true that there is a jewelry set that was made to go with this dress as a companion piece and it is beautiful – however, since so many have already shown them together beautifully, I thought it would be more challenging to find equally fitting options that were not specifically made for this.

Hello Mates!

Been a while since I wrote for this column, so thought of getting back to it a bit Last night I was simply jumping some sim to sim by randomly clicking on the map LOL. A wild and risky thing to do, but I guess it paid off in a fantastic way! I came across a SIM called the City of Perdition – a fantastic urban role play build. I was fortunate enough to have an acquaintance with the Sim owner – Tre Dexler. He told me the the sim is pretty much ready for its opening in a few days. Impressive build, realistic textures and amazing light effects makes this sim unique. Surely my strong recommendation if you are up for some urban roleplaying or even photoshoots. I took some pictures there, as i couldnt resist! Take a look. The pics are non-photoshoped, I simply played with the windlight settings .. I hope u like it!

Fabulously Free in SL: Whisper Swansong

Curious Kitties have this adorable group gift hair. Simply tp, join the group and then slap the poster while wearing your tag.

I couldnt resist teaming it with the Emerald Careless Whisper negligee from AQUA, which isnt free or on offer at the moment, but is still hawt and is only 150L for a full set. The Afrika choker is the new group gift from Yourskin & Yourshape and comes in both the silver Im wearing and a gold colour.

This adorable cherry dress is from C More and is a dollarbie on the desk. I just love it! Its so much fun!

The boots worn are another pair of the McQueen inspired boots by Megg Demina. Not free Im afraid, but you can buy them from her Heroes of Fashion Exhibit.

Mischief is having a 50% off sale which is well worth visiting. I went and scooped a few bargains to show you, but there are heaps more on offer with almost all of the seperates under 100L.

The Up or Down skirt in Crimson is 70L.. the White camisole is a freebie from Fri.day found on a shelf inside the store. The Short Boots are free from Marie as is the hair worn in this picture. So I’ve been a little slow on the bloggage of late. I’m just a wee burnt out on creating, so thought maybe I should take a break and actually SHOP! OMG! I saw this lovely coat in the last announcement from Sn@tch, and had to have it. It just screams vintage (to me anyways) and is a bargain – 5 colors and capri pants for $275? Seriously this is a great price. I’m trying to really get outta my skybox more, and explore around SL. I went to the embryo sim to take these pictures – it’s a lovely spring setting. I picked up the white top and trousers from Cupcakes. I really love these trousers and have them in black too. Something about the line. I’ve tucked them into my western boots from J’s. I wearing one of my new jewelry sets, called ‘Found Things’ and a metallic belt I released not too long ago. Also sporting one of my new hairs called Julie in Rum Raisen, which I guess is a color that suits me and my av perfectly. Oh and the skin is a group gift from Dutch Touch, and beloved by me.

Yes I am doing another look of the day post. This time it all started with the skin. I loved the blend of orange and yellow around the eyes.

The I started throwing on clothes and ended up in black and white. It seemed a little plain to me so I went out and bought a scarf. I sat there staring at myself for a long time because it felt like it needed something else to finish it off. The it hit me! I needed a purse. Now I went to plurk to get ideas on where to go. Of course this caused an uproar because I have some friends who are very anti-purse in SL. I bet bet they are secretly have a purse fetish in RL. Anyway this is the finished look.....

A friend of mine asked me why so many avatars on the feed put things in their mouth — like ridiculous things, that have no business being there. When the trend first started, it was limited to things like lollipops, ice cream, cigarettes, duct tape, etc. Then people started attaching cassette tapes, buttons, household objects, and little animals.

I think putting objects in your mouth is OK — I don’t mind it in the right situations! But I’ve seen people blog a formal gown, while omnomnomnoming* on a little mouse.

Here’s a list of reasons why *I* think so many people are putting things in their mouth:

They’re hungry! Omnomonomnomnommmmm!

They’re accessorizing!

They want to draw attention away from their non-matching prim feet.

They’re trying to save prims (by wearing it instead of rezzing it).

That’s all I can think of for now.

*Omnomnom = eating sounds! My plurk pals recently enlightened me that this is cute and not retarded, so I stand corrected. OM NOM NOM NOM LOL!

I’ve been on a bit of a dress kick lately, so I apologize for drowning you in cute frocks. But what can I say? Sometimes inspiration just hits, and lately it has been dragging me toward the cute, fun, and flirty world of dresses. I decided to dress this one down a bit and construct my own scene, because decorating is just as much fun for me as putting together an outfit.

I picked up this adorable beige Pocket Dress from So Many Styles, and I fell in love with it so quickly. The ruffle and pocket details are just too cute, the shading and wrinkling are superb, and the overall look is simply adorable. I paired it with this beautiful robin’s egg Neato Sweatshirt from Tres Blah, which looks really great with the beige dress, especially after I used the nifty texture-change functionality of the dress buttons to coordinate.

Then I added these super cute 1st mate capris from /artilleri/, which sport adorable wide-leg cuffs and do a great job of dressing down the look. And for shoes, I chose these comfy yet adorable Ant Flats from MIEL, and I really really love them. The Akira hairstyle from >TRUTH< is a new release, and it is one of my favorites right now. And, of course, the beautiful -Belleza- Alyson is just the perfect skin for this sweet look.

Some nice and cute things I got recently.

D-lab, HANUTA and other shops on 6pi sim are up in the air now. The new build is beautiful. While visiting, there are some new gacha to play with. They are irresistible cute.

The new noju releases are wonderful. They are great for spring and summer season.

The doughnuts are free in a new spring paper bag full of food from mocha Bellic. <3

Last but not the least, 2 REAL’s new shoes. I love the new textures. They are so beautiful, especially the printed textures. With a HUD, it is easy to make your own special shoes. I made them colorful here for the spring look.

Speaking of SL weddings…

While I don’t ever plan on having my own SL wedding, being a photographer does afford me the opportunity to attend a lot of them. I’m always looking for something fantastic to wear to a wedding that won’t be too much, you know? Not too primmy, not too scripty, etc. The wedding guests create enough lag without me adding to it and making my job that much more difficult. For this most recent wedding, I found the perfect gown – Guinevere from Blacklace.

It is no secret that I am a huge fan of Mariska Simons’ lingerie, but she makes fabulous gowns as well.  The dress comes in a variety of colors, but I chose to get Guinevere in purple because it was just too gorgeous and regal to pass up. Guinevere can be worn in two different ways with the skirt options you get upon purchase: a full skirt or a skirt with side slits for a sexier option. The silky texture and embroidered bodice add a touch of elegance and regal charm to the dress. You also get the option to wear this as lingerie, going from a night out to a night in with the click of your mouse. I do enjoy versatility. Speaking of versatility, it just now occurred to me that this would make a lovely bridesmaids dress.

The Guinevere jewelry set from Aluinn can be purchased right next to the gown or in the Aluinn store. I must confess that I did not wear the jewelry during the wedding.  However, I wanted to showcase it here because it is so beautiful and was also the inspiration behind the dress , if I remember correctly.

Aluinn is quickly becoming a favorite spot for jewelry. Her designs are always creative and very well made. The Guinevere set is gorgeous and I especially love how it flows slightly down the back.

Everyone has them and I wanted to make them too. I’m a follower like that. Nah…I just wanted to see if I could. In the Animation barn at MH Creations, you’ll find both the Stand and Sit of the Dolly Static Animation Pose Set. You can purchase them either as singles or the set.

The skin has a bit of a story to it….a good one though! I rented a shop from RosieB over at the Shopatorium and was recently going through some of my inventory finally filing things when I saw a folder that said “Welcome Pack from d/g.” I had no clue what it was or when I received it, so opened it up and saw skins from Desolution/Grace and promptly tried some on then fired off a thank you IM and an apology for not noticing and responding sooner (why can’t thank you cards in RL be this easy?). I originally had planned on wearing a different outfit from thedollhouse for the dolly poster and one of the skins went perfect with it. After I changed outfits, I realized the make up didn’t work well and hopped on over to Desolution/Grace to see what else was to be had. Trying out a few demo’s, I settled on the MockSkin Renewal: Svetlana Golden Cressida: Pale edition and snatched it up for 500L!

(love the skin and the choker which I picked up from *Dreams*, my two new favorite items right now!)

The latest free Aimesi skin giftie features a beguiling swipe of mossy green color across the eyes (in 3 skin tones) + some perfectly pert lips.
This enchanting skin was such a 'natch with the free sage green-gold "sprite" dress from Wishbox's MM board. For added fairyness I slipped on the wings + gloves from the lovely $1L Marinoco Fashion gift (which also includes a princess-like vanilla-colored strapless satin gown). -- These wings are some of the most unique I've seen, with white satin edging + feathered lavendar "veins" running thru the center. A pale rose motif "sprouts" from the middle of the wingbacks too; so so pretty + ya gotta love this level of detail.
It's tres stressful being a fairy sometimes. Flower meditation time is key.
Here's hoping everyone's week has a bit o' RL magic in it. Fairy love + fashionista kisses to all!

From the article:

So, by working for Raytheon, this Second Life resident should be educated enough in copyright and trademark law to know this is not okay.

Yep.. another collar. I happen to like them!

This one is laced up at the front (hence the corset name) and is scripted to colour-change the trim and the little heart dangle. I've only used a single script for the colour change, so it should be low lag. There are 8 colours to chose from, hopefully that should suit most things!

Again, the Corset Collar is only available at the Fair while it is open, after that I will move it into my store and put it in my usual vendors. So, for now, it's mod/copy only. There is a demo available next to the box in my Fair store.

As you probably know by now, the Accessory Fair 2010 is up and running until the 27th March. I have a store in the fair (link), and I'm releasing a few Fair exclusives!

The first of these is Musette.

Musette is an art-deco inspired set - the theme of the Fair is Broadway Nights, which just suggested art-deco to me! Musette features black enamel pieces studded with diamonds, and surrounded by gold. Simple, but striking. The set contains a necklace, earrings and a bangle. Only available at the fair for now, but I will move it to my store once the fair is over. Currently only available in mod/copy. A free demo of the necklace is available in my store at the fair.

Hi! Long time no see *grins*

I actually put these collars out a while back, then completely forgot to blog them. So here goes. Simple white leather collars ( I call them kitty collars because I go neko, but they'd work for most animals) with silver mounted gems and a heart shaped padlock. They are unscripted, but fully modify so you can add your own favourite collar scripts if you so desire. Available in pink, red or blue.

Mod/copy or mod/transfer, just pick when you pay the vendor. A free demo is also available at my Gisborne store.

This week I come to you under a fog of Dayquil or Nyquil or both. I think at this point both are working in tandem to keep my fuddled brain or is it brain fuddled? Anyway I managed to climb out of bed and do some shopping. I came across Aoharu’s latest release on the feeds and as usual, had to have it.

When I TP’d in I was surprised to notice that the shops had undergone a renovation. Aoharu was known for having one of the worst lay outs. Its like the store never ended row upon row of goodies. But with the new lay out the new releases are right at the front. Even the new Annexx releases can be found at with the clothing releases.

I wandered around and found a new things one of which being these cute shorts. I thought they would go well with the front knot shirt. Did I mention that was the new release I had to have? The Front Knot Shirt comes in regular denim and floral textures also. I got the fat pack of denim. Its good to have several denim choices, even if mostly I wear black.

I found Exile hair I forgot I bought and 2real sneakers that were a bit too complex to color in my current state but I managed. Pre-sets would have been nice. Anyway head on down to Aoharu and check out the new store layout.

When Gospel Voom first made the very awesome Dare booties in black, I did like them, but I didn’t think that they were QUITE me. However, when he mentioned on Plurk that he just released them in BROWN…well, I hopped right over to Gos buy a pair!

I just love them! And the toes…just adorable! Plus they were very easy to tint with the helpful HUD and the list of corresponding presets for several of the more popular skins in SL. The shoes themselves are also very customizable, with menu options to change the color of the shoes to three different shades of brown, detailed or smooth leather, the color of the zips, studs, arches, and heels. And of course you can wear them with the toes peeking out or with a closed toe. So wonderful!

You can pick up your Dare booties for $975L, and remember, they come in black and red, as well! Get over to Gos!
